Democracy

This exhibition was part of a wider multi-media project that took place in Bridport, Dorset in late 2015. It was a huge event that emcompassed music, dance, theatre, films, art, puppetry, poetry and photography.

The whole event was an off shoot of the Home in Bridport project and pulled in a lot of people that were involved in that project plus a few more like Billy Bragg and David Glass.

My own contribution was a combination of a photo essay and the written word ... a story about an ex-infantryman struggling to make ends meet.

My essay was hung as four triptychs entitiled Work, Fishing, Food and Future ... they are shown below as they were displayed by you will need to click on the individual images to bring them up on a lightbox in order to read most of the content.

Work ...

Mark is an ex-infantryman. He has been sent to Kosovo, Bosnia, Northern Ireland and Iraq. He has seen things that most of us should be glad to have never witnessed.

Lazy? No ...

Feckless? No ...

Afraid of hard work? No ...

Likely to rise to the top? No ...
